Exploring the manipulation of interesting acoustic sounds, recorded here in my studio and out and about in field recordings. Creating a narrative with textures and harmony. Using granular synthesis to manipulate the sounds and inspire the writing, re-sampling, and creating new inspirations. I love to record an acoustic instrument, and then use a manipulation tool, such as an analogue delay pedal, playing it like an instrument, to create something that's miles away from the original acoustic recording. The music owes a nod to the ambient work of Fripp and Eno, but unlike ambient music, it's not intended to be wallpaper, but more like sonic journeys. Each track is a unique journey with a story, and requires the listener to sit, relax, and be taken on that journey. These journeys help me to disconnect my sometimes obsessive and destructive brain, breaking the loops and destructive spirals of the human mind.
